  • NFL Network to air arena league games (AP)
Arena football's new league has reached a one-year agreement with the NFL Network to broadcast a game of the week. Spokesman Dennis Johnson confirmed Monday that the network will show one of Arena Football One's games each Friday night under the deal, which also has an option for a second year.
  • Saints raise struggling city's spirits (AP)

New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton holds the Vince Lombardi Trophy as he leaves the airport Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, in Kenner, La., after the Saints returned from the NFL football Super Bowl. The Saints defeated the Indianapolis Colts 31-17 on Sunday, for the first championship in franchise history.

People lined up by the hundreds to buy Monday's Times-Picayune, which hollered "AMEN!" from its front page. The Saints' Super Bowl victory was a prayer answered in this struggling city, and New Orleans itself seemed different for it. Swarms of fans in black and gold greeted the players as they stepped off a chartered plane at the suburban airport, cheering them with "Who...

Donte' Stallworth will get the chance to resurrect his NFL career, but it won't happen in Cleveland. The Browns released the troubled wide receiver on Monday, wasting little time after NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said Friday that Stallworth would be reinstated following the Super Bowl. Stallworth was suspended for the 2009 season by Goodell after he pleaded guilty to killing a pedestrian...

  • Raiders hire Pendergast as assistant (AP)
The Oakland Raiders have hired longtime NFL defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast as an assistant. The team did not say what Pendergast's role would be when announcing his hiring Monday. Pendergast was let go last month as defensive coordinator in Kansas City. Pendergast had spent the previous five years as defensive coordinator in Arizona, helping the Cardinals make it to the Super Bowl a...
  • Colts hope loss fuels another title run (AP)
Reggie Wayne stared right through all those reporters. He wasn't bothered by the questions Sunday night. He just couldn't believe he and the Colts lost to his hometown New Orleans Saints in the Super Bowl. Moments after Indianapolis came up one win short of a championship, the Pro Bowl receiver downplayed the disappointment by focusing on next season.
  • Off-field issues threaten NFL future (AP)
A memorable season capped by a super title game with a record TV audience has NFL executives and fans beaming. The smiles might soon disappear. Pro football is headed into the great unknown. Barring a quick -- and totally unexpected -- agreement with the players' union on a new contract, 2010 will have no salary cap.
  • Colts favored to win 2011 Super Bowl (AP)
One bad pass by Peyton Manning hasn't cost the Indianapolis Colts any cachet. Manning and the Colts are favored to win next year's Super Bowl, according to odds released Monday by BetUS.com. Indianapolis is a 7-1 favorite to take home the NFL championship, followed by the Chargers (8-1), Saints (9-1) and the Patriots (10-1).
  • Brees, Payton bask in glory of title (AP)
Clearly exhausted from a late night of post-Super Bowl celebrations, Sean Payton leaned on a podium Monday morning, clutching the Vince Lombardi trophy in his right hand. "You can't get enough of this," the Saints' head coach said at a news conference at the Fort Lauderdale convention center.
  • Super Bowl most-watched program ever (AP)
The New Orleans Saints' victory over Indianapolis in the Super Bowl was watched by more than 106 million people, surpassing the 1983 finale of "M-A-S-H" to become the most-watched program in U.S. television history, the Nielsen Co. said Monday. Compelling story lines involving the city of New Orleans and its ongoing recovery from Hurricane Katrina and the attempt at a second Super Bowl...
  • Saints fans greet team at airport (AP)
Jubilant fans greeted the Super Bowl-winning Saints Monday, showering them with "Who Dat!" chants as they returned to their home city as champions. At a suburban airport, thousands of fans decked in black-and-gold lined the road to cheer their team after its 31-17 win over the Indianapolis Colts.

My name is Joe Gaffney.

I am currently the Hilton Super Book NFL Champion. I hold the Holy Grail of all NFL contests.

I have known Chuck McDowell for many years. When Chuck walks into a room he lights it up. He is honest, truthful and his integrity is impeccable.Chuck has been on my nationwide radio show WSNR and on my TV show in New York.

I have never had another handicapper on my show but Chuck's solid traits and handicapping skills got him to the mike. I never gave out both sides on my show but when Chuck and I both agreed we went 10-2 that year, for all the country to hear. Chuck's last superbowl says it all as he went 3-0 plus a money line win.

Chuck is a Southern gentleman and where I am from, Hell's Kitchen, in New York, he would be known as a stand up guy.

Sincerely,

Joe Gaffney
